The Britain's Leading Edge family has grown! Somerset Council and Wiltshire Council have joined our network and were formally welcomed at a meeting of Britain's Leading Edge Leaders and CEOs this week.
Following a review of our membership criteria, which hadn't changed since Britain's Leading Edge was founded in 2020, we identified new potential members and sent out invitations. We were delighted that Somerset and Wiltshire wanted to join!
Like the other members of Britain's Leading Edge, Somerset and Wiltshire:
Are categorised as a Spacious Rural Living or Rural Amenity subgroup, with a score greater than 150, by the Consumer Data Research Centre.
Have a workday population density of less than 375, according to the 2021 Census.
Only have built up areas with a maximum population size of 90,000 usual residents, again according to the 2021 Census.
Everyone at Britain's Leading Edge is looking forward to working with officers and members of Somerset Council and Wiltshire Council as we strive to help power the UK, feed the UK and be the lungs of the UK.
